Your Next Leadership Team

We are excited to announce our next leadership team and share what impact it will make. Are you ready!?

As with most organizations, there is a limited number of membership seats. MOPS of Newnan is no different, but we are very excited to share with you that we have 16 new seats available this year thanks to the moms who have volunteered to adopt a table as Discussion Group Leaders. So without further ado, let’s name our team of Discussion Group Leaders.

Robin Ervin, Discussion Group Team Leader

Laura Prout, Discussion Group Team Leader

Ashley Kraft, Discussion Group Leader

Cassie Jackson, Discussion Group Leader

Isn’t this exciting? We are now capable of hosting 12 full tables of mamas who need each other. I am, personally, super proud of what this leadership team is already doing behind the scenes; as proud, is my lovely Co-Coordinator, Kala Arrington. And I don’t think we need any special recognition or introduction for that matter, but we are both super proud to be helping lead this group for the next year.

Kala Arrington, Co-Coordinator

Tiffanie Teel, Co-Coordinator

On to the remaining leadership team who will do most of the heavy lifting, and the individuals who will touch your life significantly through their consistent efforts to help MOPS of Newnan run efficiently and effortlessly.

Emily Ingold, Finance Leader

Katie Jeffords, MOPS Kids Leader

Andrea Reese, MOPS Kids Leader

Jenn MacKinnon, Hospitality & Member Care Leader

Christy Faircloth, Hospitality & Member Care Leader

Lauren Conway, Creative Activities & Service Project Leader

Robin Ervin, Discussion Group Team Leader

Laura Prout, Discussion Group Team Leader

This team is going to do amazing things because action is already being taken, and leadership is just that… an action; it’s not a position. This team is consistent in our prayer for the moms in our community that God will lead the ones who need us the most to our door.

Kala and I are, also, still in prayer that God will send us three more leaders. One to co-lead with Lauren Conway in Creative Activities and Service Projects and two more who not only have a past success but passion for fundraising. If you are feeling your heart strings being tugged and considering leadership, we know you could help fill these shoes. Please reach out to us. A prayer, then conversation is all we ask you to start with.

Do you want to be a part of MOPS of Newnan this year? Join us. Don’t miss out on this amazing group of mamas. Come see what MOPS can do for you, and I bet you’ll learn what you have to offer too.

Early Registration ends this weekend. Register here to help us earn free MOPS International Memberships which allow us to offer financial assistance to mothers.

Moms’ Night Out

What? MNO. A moms’ night out. You might need one of these if your heels are dusty, you’ve been looking for a reason to wash your hair, you haven’t worn pants with buttons in a while, your TV is constantly on Nickelodeon, you can’t recall the last time you ate somewhere that didn’t have a kids menu, you feel slightly confused when you’re alone, your mascara is expired, you have to Google “MNO”, you consider a trip to the park a wild outing, your solo trips to the store feel like a vacation, you’re wearing the same outfit in every Instagram, you’re the last to know… well everything!

Who? M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Preschoolers. In other words, you qualify, if you have a kiddo age zero to kindergarten.)

When? Thursday, June 28th at 7 pm

Where? Mama Lucia’s (236 Newnan Crossing Bypass, Newnan, GA 30263)

Will you join us? R.S.V.P. before June 27th to

New Membership Fees

Our membership fees have been updated and even though it’s only a small difference, you deserve an explanation.

For a long time, MOPS of Newnan has only charged $80 for local fees, keeping our total fee at $99. Last year, however, MOPS International Fees were inflated, and they offered multi-year memberships. In order to provide each mom with the option to choose a multi-year membership, MOPS of Newnan accepted local membership dues, only. Each mom was then responsible for registering with MOPS International, which is not optional but hard to enforce.

“MOPS International Fees provide more than just an awesome membership kit, but the membership kit is not the greatest benefit your dues provide. MOPS International uses monies from membership fees to support MOPS groups around the world for moms who would otherwise have little to no support in their communities and who may have no other way to experience the love of Jesus.”

So what has changed? First, multi-year memberships are no longer available with MOPS International. Second, our cost has increased. But third, our leadership team has grown, and as a result, we are going to take the pressure off you by registering you with MOPS International.

What is the fee, you ask? MOPS International dues are $31.95 and local dues are $83.05, rounding us up to an easy total of $115.00.

We trust that our current members understand and respect this very little change to our total fee. Please direct any and all questions to your Co-Coordinators, Tiffanie Teel or Kala Arrington.

Last, did you know that MOPS International gives back to MOPS of Newnan? That’s right. We are currently eligible to receive 1 FREE Membership for every 7 membership registrations, but this ends on June 30th. And because of this, we are extending a challenge to you.

WHAT TO DO: Register for the upcoming season with MOPS of Newnan by June 29th, and we will enter you into a drawing for a gift basket full of goodies.

HOW TO REGISTER: Complete the registration form here, and send payment via PayPal to

*If you need to pay with cash or check, complete this registration form and contact one of your Co-Coordinators at for alternate payment arrangements.

Last meeting of the year

Ya’ll how did this happen? How are we already at the end of our Mops year? I’m not sure about you but I have grown so much this year in large part because of Mops. This year we have covered everything from feeding each other pudding while blindfolded to hearing a deeply personal testimony from one of our own mamas. We have had a lot of tears and even more laughs. As you reflect on this year I hope a smile comes to your face as your remember all the fun we’ve had!

Our last meeting will be this Friday, April 20th. It will be jam-packed with activities so please join us for lots of fun. There has been a little hesitation from some of the mamas to head downtown this Friday in light of Saturdays events. Please know we have consulted with FBC leaders and they do not have any concerns for safety. We will have our Spring Swap and annual fitness scavenger hunt. Our Spring Swap will be just like the one this fall. Bring any of your gently used items (children/women/men/household goods/toys) you no longer need. We will be donating all our unclaimed items to Elizabeth Thomas for a fundraiser yard sale her family will have to raise money for her son’s autism service dog. Please watch Facebook for info on how to further support this need.

The fitness scavenger hunt was a huge hit last spring so we decided to bring it back this year! Feel free to wear comfortable clothes…but don’t worry we aren’t running a 5k or anything 😉

Great news! Our spring fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to all who participated. As a Mops group we tithed a percentage of what we made and donated it to RACE for the Orphans.

REMINDER ALERT: Mops&Pops banquet is May 4th from 6-8pm. This is one of the most fun and relaxing nights of the year for our mamas. I mean who would pass up an opportunity to have a hot dinner with your husband and friends, listen to a hilarious speaker and be kid free? This literally sounds like a dream come true for me! Tickets are $10/person. Will your husband be out-of-town or working that evening? Don’t worry! There will be plenty of mamas there who will be going stag. Melanie Dale is bound to bring you to tears from laughter so sign up today!

Keeping your children safe

“In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And his children will have refuge” Proverbs 14:26

This weeks topic will deal with keeping your children safe from the unthinkable-sexual abuse-and what signs to watch for to identify potential predators. Speaker Darleine Arce will teach us “How to spot a predator.” We realize this topic is quite sensitive and may be especially difficult for some more than others. For this reason, we will have a list of counseling resources on hand if anyone should need them. Also, Katie Morgan will be displaying a series of books called Safe Hearts. Each book in this series offers a unique and child-friendly way to talk to your children about keeping themselves safe. There is no pressure to buy; we just wanted to let you know this resource will also be available at this meeting. Our craft this week will be putting together a coloring book to use with our children that also covers the important topic of safety. We should all leave well-equipped to keep our sweet babies as safe as possible.

we will also be collecting baby shower gift items for the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home teen mom residents. This will be our last community outreach collection for the year, so let’s be generous!

Save the Date for RACE for the Orphans, May 5th!! Here is their website if you would like to register:

Everyone enjoy your week and we look forward to seeing those smiling faces on Friday!

Loving your M.E.S.S.S

By the sound of this weeks topic, its like Mops has eyes inside my house. Haha! We  can all agree that this stage in our lives things get a bit chaotic to say the least. What a better way to start off the month of March than with a Health, Wellness and Lifestyle Transformation Coach. Flo Bradley will be joining us this Friday to talk about Loving Your M.E.S.S.S Very excited to hear what she has to share with us.

Leadership was so excited to unveil our spring fundraiser at the last meeting. The info was posted by Rachel last week on our Facebook page nd we still have plenty of slots available. Ya’ll this is a fantastic opportunity to get your family photos done for cheap by an amazing photographer and help Mops out! Its a win/win! If you have any questions about this please let us know. The link to sign up is:

First Baptist Preschool will have their Scholastic book fair open for us to shop after our meeting, so come prepared!

Our service project this month will be collecting baby items to donate to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.  These items will be given to the teen moms who live at the facility as part of a group baby shower in April.  Let’s bless these moms-to-be with diapers, wipes, clothes, etc—anything you would give at a baby shower!  You may leave your unwrapped item at the welcome table as you come in.

There is still time to register for the OT Live event hosted by First Baptist Church on March 3rd from 9:00-12:00.  This walk through the Old Testament is for anyone 3rd grade through adults, with additional activities provided for younger children.  Register at by February 28th!
